This refurbishment project was undertaken for a customer who had owned the vehicle from new and wanted to address the various elements of corrosion to the body shell.
It involved us in replacing both rear wheel arches, both rear doors, repairing both front doors and replacing the right hand wing panel.Because no wings were available we had to alter a new Maestro Van wing to fit which involved some cutting and welding to modify the panel. Surface corrosion to the sill and door steps was removed with localised sand blasting.
The body was then prepared for a full exterior respray to include the bonnet and door shuts. We used 2k high build surfacer which was then well flatted before applying two coats of 2k direct gloss Rover Monza Red.
